Ahrefs added an AI Discoverability check to Site Audit
Ahrefs flags Site Audit issues that stop AI crawlers from reaching, reading, and citing a page.

Why it mattersAn SEO team can see one place where its AI visibility is leaking. The deeper reports and scoring are promised, not released.
A page can be the best answer on the web and still miss every AI-generated reply. The gap is a crawler that could not reach it, or a page that an AI reader could not use. Ahrefs added a check for that gap to Site Audit on 28 October.
The feature is called AI Discoverability. Ahrefs says it is a new issue category inside Site Audit. It checks whether AI crawlers like ChatGPT and Claude can reach, read, and cite pages on a site. If they cannot, Ahrefs says the content will not appear in AI-generated answers, regardless of its quality.
Ahrefs posted this in its own monthly release note on 28 October. It is one of five features in the release.
What is in the first release
Ahrefs did not list every rule the check runs today. It did list what is coming next. The list includes an AI Discoverability Score widget, a dedicated report, structured data recommendations, and stale content detection. Ties with Bot Analytics, Web Analytics, and Brand Radar are also coming. Those are promised. Today's release is the category and its issues inside Site Audit.
A second feature in the same release matters for the same work. Bot Analytics now connects directly to Vercel, Amazon CloudFront, and Fastly. The release note says these connections used to need extra setup. Setting them up now runs under Project settings, then Bot Analytics. Ahrefs says you then see how search engines and AI crawlers move through your site.
The other three in the release
Site Explorer added an Organic pages by type widget. It breaks a site's traffic down by page type, such as blog post, tool, or landing page. Ahrefs says you can run it on a competitor to see what drives their traffic.
Keywords Explorer added a Semantic filter. Ahrefs says it matches keywords by meaning rather than exact text. The example in the release note is the running shoe brand "On". A plain search returns thousands of unrelated keywords. A semantic filter of "running shoes" narrows it to results like "on cloud running shoes".
API and MCP unit limits doubled on every plan. Ahrefs says the old limits were a bottleneck for users pulling data into AI assistants and automated workflows. A public list of the top one million domains by Domain Rating is now available. A Content Helper Topics API scores how well a page covers the core topics of top-ranking pages.
What this changes
Ahrefs now has a built-in place to find the technical issues that block an AI crawler. The limits of this first release are stated by Ahrefs: no score, no dedicated report, no structured data recommendations. The useful work is listing the issues. The deeper reading is promised.
