Guide

Top forward deployed engineering firms in Europe

This guide lists seventeen firms that a company in Europe can ask for forward deployed engineering, meaning engineers from the firm placed inside the client's team to build software. Twelve describe this work on their own sites, four use the term only in job ads or as a job title, and one uses it only in its directory text. Twelve are based in Europe, three are US firms that name a European office, and two, Reveneau and Fluxon, are based in North America. Every fact was checked on 21 October 2026, and each sentence says whether it comes from the firm, a company register, a news report or a partner directory. No firm publishes a rate card, and no firm gets a score.

Key takeaways

  • Seventeen firms are in this guide: Reveneau, Fluxon, Netguru, 10Clouds, STX Next, Devoteam, SFEIR, Polynom, Faculty, Brdge, accilium, Enjins, Twistag, Netlight, Grid Dynamics, Distyl AI and Tribe AI.
  • London has the most firms in this guide with an office there, seven. No firm names an office inside the city of Paris, and three have their head office in towns near it.
  • Anthropic's partner directory, read on 21 October 2026, lists seven of the seventeen. SFEIR and Tribe AI hold the Preferred tier, and five firms hold the Select tier.
  • Four firms use the forward deployed title only in job ads or as a job title: accilium, Polynom, Faculty and STX Next. Netlight uses it only in its directory text.
  • No firm publishes a rate card. Official figures put the UK median for full-time software developers at £56,914 a year in 2025, and the Swedish median at SEK 53,500 a month.

This guide lists seventeen firms that sell forward deployed engineering to companies in Europe. Each one uses the words forward deployed, or describes engineers placed inside a client's team, on its own pages, in its job ads or in its directory text. Most of the work is on AI software. Every page used here was read on 21 October 2026. Each sentence tells you where its fact comes from: the firm itself, a national company register, a news report, or a partner directory.

A forward deployed engineer, often shortened to FDE, is a software engineer who works inside the client's organization, with the client's people and on the client's systems, for as long as the work lasts. The guide to forward deployed engineering explains the role in full, and what a forward deployed engineer is gives the short definition. This guide is about the firms that a company in Europe can hire to supply one. A separate list of US forward deployed engineering firms covers the United States.

Why European companies look for this help

Eurostat, the statistics office of the European Union, found that 19.95 percent of EU enterprises with 10 or more employees used at least one AI technology in 2025. Among enterprises that had considered AI and decided against it, the most common reason was a lack of relevant expertise, given by 70.89 percent [34]. An outside engineer who works inside the company is one way to supply that expertise. Why European companies hire FDE firms sets out the full Eurostat figures, by country and by company size.

Rules matter too. The European Commission states that the EU's AI Act entered into force on 1 August 2024 and became applicable on 2 August 2026, with some exceptions [36]. This guide does not explain the law. It does give you questions to ask each firm about where your data is kept and who can see it.

The list at a glance

The table shows the European offices each firm names, where its offer of embedded engineers appears, and its tier in Anthropic's partner directory. Anthropic makes the Claude AI models. Its directory lists firms that help other companies set up and use Claude, and gives most of them one of three tiers: Global Premier, Preferred or Select. Anthropic sets the tier, and each partner writes its own description. The directory held 321 entries when it was read on 21 October 2026 [1].

How each entry is written

Each entry gives the facts, then two short lines. Fits names the buyer the firm suits, based on what the firm, a register or a reporter says. Pick someone else if names the case in which another firm would suit you better.

Words such as "by its own account", "the firm says" and "its page says" mark a fact that comes only from the firm. A named register, such as Companies House or the Polish National Court Register, or a named outlet, such as BusinessCloud, marks a fact from outside the firm. How the European FDE firms in this guide were chosen explains every test and every source.

The firms

1. Reveneau

Reveneau offers forward deployed engineers. Its offices are at 435 Utah Street in San Francisco and on Floor 33, 909 Mainland Street, in Vancouver. Reveneau lists no office in Europe, so a European buyer should ask where the engineers on its project would work and in which time zone. The rest of this entry is Reveneau's own account of how it works. Reveneau says AI writes 100 percent of its code. By its own account, every change has to pass a large eval suite before it is released. An eval suite is a set of automated tests that checks whether the software does what its specification asks, and Reveneau says it writes its suite from the specification. Reveneau says the suite is graded by Jev, and that Jev makes the suite run ten times faster than its previous grader did. Reveneau says it uses AI in place of hiring more engineers and puts that saving into the prices its clients pay. It says it takes responsibility for the whole project, through production and after release. Production means the live system that real users rely on each day. Anthropic's directory did not list Reveneau when all 321 entries were searched on 20 October 2026 [1].

Fits: a company that wants embedded engineers whose code is written by AI and tested against the specification before every release, by Reveneau's own account, and that can work with a team based in North America. You can contact Reveneau to describe the work.

Pick someone else if: you need a firm with an office in Europe that you can visit, or your rules require a partner that Anthropic's directory lists.

2. Fluxon

Fluxon is a software firm. Forbes's company page, with figures as of March 2026, gives its headquarters as San Francisco and its staff as 200 employees [33]. Fluxon's own careers page gives a different count, "300+ builders", so the two figures disagree [31]. On 21 October 2026 that careers page listed roles located in Poland, among them Staff Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer and Senior QA Engineer, and roles located in Portugal, among them Senior Product Designer and Senior Technical Project Manager. The same page says Fluxon is 100 percent remote, "Connected through local hubs, shared work, and time together in person." Its homepage shows clocks labelled SF, TOR, WAW and MUM, and WAW is the code for Warsaw's airport. None of the pages read names a Fluxon office in Europe, so this guide describes Fluxon as a firm that hires in Poland and Portugal. Fluxon calls its AI work forward deployed: a heading on its AI development page reads "Forward-deployed by default." [32] Under a step it calls "Build side by side", it writes: "Same channels, same standups. It feels like we sit next to you because, in practice, we do." A standup is a short daily team meeting. Fluxon's own pages name clients including Google, Zapier, Puzzle and Envestnet. No outside source opened for this guide confirms any of them. Anthropic's directory did not list Fluxon on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: a company that wants a team to join its own chat channels and daily meetings, and that is comfortable with staff who work remotely, some of them hired in Poland or Portugal.

Pick someone else if: you want to visit the firm's own office in Europe. Fluxon's pages name none.

3. Netguru

Netguru gives its headquarters as Nowe Garbary Office Center, ul. Małe Garbary 9, Poznań, Poland. The Polish National Court Register, known as KRS, lists the company as Netguru S.A. with its registered seat at the same street in Poznań [3]. S.A. marks a joint-stock company, a company whose capital is divided into shares. The register shows that this company entered the register on 24 August 2018. Netguru's own about page gives a longer history, "17+ years in the market", and says it has 400+ people. Its service page is titled "Forward Deployed Software Engineers for Hire" and offers to "Embed a vetted AI engineer directly inside your team." [2] The page says the work is billed on a time and materials basis, meaning you pay for the hours worked, and that most full-time engagements start at a monthly retainer, a fixed fee paid each month. It says Netguru shares its rates on a first call to agree the scope of the work. The page names ARC Europe and Merck KGaA as clients, and neither company's own statement was opened for this guide. Anthropic's directory did not list Netguru on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: a company that wants one senior AI engineer working inside its own team, billed by the hour, with a larger software company behind that engineer.

Pick someone else if: you want a fixed price for a fixed scope. Netguru says its FDE work is billed on time and materials.

4. 10Clouds

10Clouds lists its office at Chmielna 73, Warsaw. The company named in its site footer, 10Clouds Financial Institutions sp. z o.o., is in the Polish court register as a limited company, entered on 7 October 2022 [5]. Sp. z o.o. is the Polish short form for a limited company. The Polish Ministry of Finance's VAT register, its list of companies that charge value added tax, gives the same Warsaw address. 10Clouds says on its homepage that it has been building software since 2009, and this guide did not check whether an earlier 10Clouds company existed before the one in the register. Its service page says: "10Clouds' forward deployed engineers deploy agentic AI that solves your business problems." [4] Agentic AI means software that carries out tasks by itself. The page says these engineers "embed with your team to deploy AI agents". The text 10Clouds wrote for Anthropic's directory describes a team of 100+ AI, banking and technology experts and names its own platform, AIConsole. Anthropic's directory lists it as 10Clouds Financial Institutions at the Select tier [1].

Fits: banks, insurers, payment firms and other financial companies that want AI agents built into their existing systems by a team that focuses on that sector.

Pick someone else if: you work outside financial services, or you do not want the work built around a vendor's own platform.

5. STX Next

STX Next lists its headquarters at ul. Mostowa 38, Poznań, and a London office at 10 York Rd. Its about page lists offices in "Poznań • Gliwice • London • Houston • Merida • Eschborn", and Eschborn is in the Frankfurt area of Germany [6]. The Polish court register lists STX Next S.A. at the same Poznań street, entered on 6 May 2022 [7]. STX Next's about page gives 2005 as its founding year, which is earlier than the register date of the current company, and says it has 450+ specialists. STX Next uses Forward Deployed Engineer as a job title. A company blog post says its discovery sessions, the first meetings in which it studies a client's work, are "led by STX Next product consultants and Forward Deployed Engineers". The pages read show no STX Next service sold under the forward deployed name. The text it wrote for Anthropic's directory calls it a "Data, AI and cloud engineering partner for enterprise and mid-sized companies in the industrial, financial, and technology sectors." Anthropic's directory lists STX Next at the Select tier [1].

Fits: mid-sized and large companies in industry, finance and technology that want a Polish data and AI engineering team with a London office.

Pick someone else if: you want a firm whose main offer is forward deployed engineering. At STX Next the term appears as a job title inside discovery work.

6. Devoteam

Devoteam has its head office at 73 rue Anatole France, Levallois-Perret, a town that borders Paris. The French company register lists the company DEVOTEAM at that address and gives 25 October 1995 as the date it was created [10]. Its offices page lists, among many others, London, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Lisbon, Madrid, Stockholm and Zürich [9]. Devoteam's homepage headline reads "Your Forward Deployed Tech Partner for AI-Driven Business Transformation". Its forward deployed page says its engineers "sit inside your teams, work with your constraints and your data, and stay until someone on your side owns the result", and that "The role is temporary by design." [8] The same page sets six rules, and one of them limits the work to use cases, meaning specific tasks for AI, "already proven at another industrial client". The page is written for industrial companies. Consultancy.eu reported in April 2023 that Devoteam had reached €1 billion in revenue and more than 10,000 staff. It reported that the founding shareholders took the company off the Paris stock exchange in the fourth quarter of 2021, which is called delisting, and that KKR, a US private equity firm, funded a major part of it [11]. A private equity firm buys stakes in companies with money from investors. Anthropic's directory lists Devoteam at the Select tier [1].

Fits: industrial and other large companies in Europe that want engineers on site with their factory and business systems, from a firm whose offices page lists at least twelve European countries.

Pick someone else if: you want a small team, or your use case is new. Devoteam's rules say it takes only use cases already proven at another industrial client.

7. SFEIR

SFEIR lists its head office, which it labels Paris, at 48 Rue Jacques Dulud, Neuilly-sur-Seine, a town that borders Paris. The French company register lists SFEIR at that address, gives 27 February 1989 as its creation date, and puts it in the band of 500 to 999 employees for 2024 [13]. SFEIR's own figure is 850+ consultants, and its homepage says it has 8 agencies in France and Benelux, meaning Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Its offer page, written in French, says SFEIR FDE is the group's forward deployed engineering offer: senior engineers placed at the client in four stages, diagnosis, design, deployment and run, to take one generative AI project into production [12]. Generative AI is AI that writes text, images or code. The same page says SFEIR has done this work for 15 years under other names, which is SFEIR's own account. Anthropic's directory lists SFEIR at the Preferred tier [1]. SFEIR's offer page still calls it a Select partner, while a news item on its homepage dated 5 October 2026 announces the Preferred tier. This guide uses the directory.

Fits: companies in France and Benelux that want senior engineers placed on site to take one generative AI project into production in a fixed four-stage plan.

Pick someone else if: you need a team outside France and Benelux. SFEIR says its 8 agencies are in those countries.

8. Polynom

Polynom gives its address as 20 rue Jacques Daguerre, Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris. The French company register lists a company named HACKAJOO, with the trade name POLYNOM, at that address. It was created on 22 May 2017 and is in the band of 20 to 49 employees for 2024 [15]. Polynom's company profile on the job site Welcome to the Jungle gives 40 employees and calls it a European firm that specializes in agentic AI, data science and putting AI systems into production [14]. Polynom uses the forward deployed title in a job ad only. The ad, in French, says a Forward Deployed AI Engineer works directly with large clients to help them get real value from AI. Polynom's homepage says it designs and operates agent services for business processes such as reconciliation, compliance monitoring, claims processing and procurement controls. It calls its offer "an operated service, indexed on realised value". Anthropic's directory did not list Polynom on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: large French companies that want an AI agent built and then run for them as a service, with results tracked against a value agreed at the start.

Pick someone else if: you want to own and run the system yourself from the first day. Polynom describes its model as an operated service.

9. Faculty

Faculty lists its office at Level 5, 160 Old Street, London. Companies House, the UK register of companies, lists Faculty Science Limited at the same address, incorporated on 3 February 2014 [17]. Its record of persons with significant control, meaning the people or companies that own or control a large share, shows Accenture plc with 75 percent or more of the shares, notified on 12 March 2026. BusinessCloud reported on 17 March 2026 that Accenture had completed its purchase of Faculty, and that Faculty's chief executive and co-founder, Dr Marc Warner, had also become Accenture's chief technology officer [18]. Faculty uses the forward deployed title in job ads only. Its job board lists Forward Deployed Engineer, Senior Forward Deployed Engineer and Lead Forward Deployed Engineer roles, all in London [16]. Its services page describes work from strategy to keeping AI systems running "within your tech stack and ops processes". Faculty's homepage names work for the NHS and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, and this guide found no outside source that confirms it. Anthropic's directory did not list Faculty on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: UK public bodies and large companies that want an applied AI team for long-running work, now inside Accenture.

Pick someone else if: you want an independent specialist. Since March 2026 Faculty has been owned by Accenture.

10. Brdge

Brdge calls itself "a London-based applied AI consultancy and venture builder" and publishes no street address [19]. Its site footer names the company behind it, Iden Ventures Ltd. Companies House lists Iden Ventures Ltd with a registered office in Uxbridge, in Greater London, incorporated on 18 May 2023, under the activity code for information technology consultancy [20]. Brdge's about page says Akshay Ruparelia and Saachin Bhatt founded it in 2024. Its homepage says Brdge "puts strategists and forward-deployed engineers in one team, embedded with yours in focused sprints, accountable to a single production outcome". A sprint is a short, fixed block of work with a set goal. Brdge describes a "20+ strong network" of specialists, and it also runs a division called Launchpad that builds and backs new companies. It names the NHS, the Home Office, St. James's Place and Leonardo among its clients. This guide found no public contract notice or client statement that confirms them. Anthropic's directory did not list Brdge on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: UK organizations that want strategists and engineers in one small team for a short project that ends with the system in production.

Pick someone else if: you want a large staff of employed engineers. Brdge describes a network of specialists and gives no staff count.

11. accilium

accilium lists its headquarters at Schubertring 14, Vienna, and offices in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Bucharest and Warsaw. A job ad describes the Warsaw office as recent [21]. accilium calls itself a strategy and management consultancy for automotive and transport, energy and environment, and the public sector. It uses the forward deployed title in job ads only. Its open positions list Forward Deployed Engineer roles in Vienna and Berlin and a "Forward Deployed Engineer with German" role in Bucharest. The ad says the engineer works with accilium's clients to turn new AI technology and research into production systems. The same ad says accilium was founded in 2017, has 110+ people and owns a subsidiary of 50+ developers. A subsidiary is a company that another company controls. These are accilium's own figures, and no register entry for accilium was opened for this guide. Anthropic's directory did not list accilium on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: car makers, transport, energy and public infrastructure organizations in German-speaking Europe that want strategy consultants and engineers from one firm.

Pick someone else if: you work outside mobility, energy and the public sector, or you want a firm whose offer to clients is built on forward deployed engineering. At accilium the term appears in its hiring.

12. Enjins

Enjins lists its office at Oudegracht 91C, Utrecht, in the Netherlands, and a Berlin location at the Merantix AI Campus. Its terms page gives the company as Enjins B.V., a Dutch private limited company, with Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 71755101. The Dutch register itself was not opened for this guide. Enjins says it builds "production-grade data, ML & AI solutions on your stack with your team" [22]. ML stands for machine learning, and a stack is the set of tools and systems a company already uses. Its Partnership offer is "An embedded team that keeps shipping use cases until AI is your own capability." A job ad from Enjins for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, copied by the job board Tsenta, describes an engineer who works inside the client's own systems. Enjins says 100+ companies have used it since 2018. The examples on its homepage are unnamed: a freight platform, a car-sharing platform and a weather forecasting company. Anthropic's directory did not list Enjins on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: climate technology, energy and mobility companies that want a small engineering team working on their own cloud and data.

Pick someone else if: you need a large team, or your work is outside climate, energy, mobility and online marketplaces.

13. Twistag

Twistag lists its office at Av. Berna 30 2B, Lisbon. It calls itself "an applied AI company" that designs, builds and runs "the agents and data systems that take on real operational work". The question-and-answer data built into its about page says: "A typical engagement runs with one or two forward-deployed engineers who work inside the client's systems and team" [23]. The same data says larger programmes grow to a squad of three to eight. Its homepage says every engagement ends with documentation, evaluations, runbooks and time working with the client's engineers. A runbook is a written guide for running a system day to day. Twistag says it was founded in Lisbon in 2016 as a product studio and has 25+ engineers, designers, data and AI specialists. It names Autodesk, DHL, Volkswagen, Bangkok Bank, Ruinart and Glovo among its clients, and no outside source opened for this guide confirms them. Anthropic's directory did not list Twistag on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: mid-sized companies, in Portugal or elsewhere, that want one or two senior engineers inside their systems to put one workflow into production at a time.

Pick someone else if: you need a large team from the first day. Twistag gives 25+ people as its size.

14. Netlight

Netlight lists offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Vienna and Toronto, by city name only [24]. Netlight says it was founded in Stockholm in 1999 and has more than 2,200 people. Its homepage offers "individual consultants, a full-service team or a partnership". The words forward deployed appear only in the text Netlight wrote for Anthropic's directory, which describes it as "Technology-independent and forward-deployed since 1999" with 800+ data and AI specialists. Anthropic's directory lists it as Netlight Consulting at the Select tier [1]. No street address or register entry for Netlight was opened for this guide.

Fits: companies in the Nordic countries, German-speaking Europe, the Netherlands, the UK or Spain that want consultants added to their own teams, from one person to a full team.

Pick someone else if: you want a firm that sells a defined forward deployed AI offer. Netlight's own pages describe general consulting.

15. Grid Dynamics

Grid Dynamics is a US company whose shares trade on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Its contact page gives its global headquarters as San Ramon, California, and also labels an address at Oberallmendstrasse 18, Zug, Switzerland, as "Headquarter" [26]. The same page lists sites in the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine and Moldova, including engineering centers in London, Warsaw and Dresden. Its homepage says its platforms are delivered by its Forward Deployed Engineers, who work inside the client's team [25]. Its 2025 results release, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, reports 4,961 employees at 31 December 2025 [35]. Grid Dynamics states that Beijing Teamsun Technology, a Chinese company, owns 20.0 percent of its shares through a subsidiary, and it calls that figure approximate. Anthropic's directory lists Grid Dynamics at the Select tier [1].

Fits: large companies that want a firm listed on a stock exchange, with engineering centers in several European countries, that files its results with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Pick someone else if: your rules limit vendors with a Chinese shareholder, or you want a small team.

16. Distyl AI

Distyl AI lists New York, San Francisco and London as its locations, with no street address [27]. Crunchbase News reported on 22 September 2025 that Distyl raised $175 million in a Series B round at a $1.8 billion valuation, led by Khosla Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners [28]. A Series B is a company's second large round of investment, and the valuation is the price the investors put on the whole company. Crunchbase News also reported that both founders worked at Palantir Technologies before. Distyl's homepage says it works by "forward-deploying our teams of engineers and researchers who own the outcome", and by deploying its own products, customized to each business. Anthropic's directory did not list Distyl on 21 October 2026 [1].

Fits: the largest companies. Crunchbase News describes Distyl's aim as helping Fortune 500 companies, the biggest US companies on Fortune magazine's list, become "AI-native", meaning companies whose work is built around AI.

Pick someone else if: you are a mid-sized European company, or you want the finished system to run without the vendor's own products.

17. Tribe AI

Tribe AI lists offices in New York, San Francisco and Lisbon in its site footer, with no street address [29]. The office regions it gave in Anthropic's directory list only the United States, so its Lisbon office comes from its own footer alone. TechCrunch called Tribe AI a Brooklyn-based startup in July 2024. It reported that Tribe launched in 2019, that it builds client projects with a network of over 500 contractors, and that its customers include MyFitnessPal and New Relic [30]. Tribe's homepage says: "We embed. We build. We don't stop until it's in production." A homepage post dated 14 July 2026 says a new chief technology officer joined to grow its forward deployed engineering organization. Anthropic's directory lists it as TribeAI at the Preferred tier [1].

Fits: large companies that want a US AI services firm with a base in Lisbon.

Pick someone else if: you want every engineer on your project to be on the firm's own payroll. TechCrunch reported in 2024 that Tribe builds client projects with a network of over 500 contractors.

FDE firms by European city

Forward deployed engineers work at the client's site. A firm's office tells you where you can meet its leaders and where some of its staff live. The table counts a firm for a city when its own pages, or an independent register, name an office inside the city limits. Fluxon is left out, because it names no European office.

City Firms that name an office there
London Faculty, Brdge, STX Next, Devoteam, Grid Dynamics, Distyl AI, Netlight
Warsaw 10Clouds, Devoteam, Grid Dynamics, accilium
Berlin accilium, Enjins, Netlight
Lisbon Twistag, Devoteam, Tribe AI
Amsterdam Devoteam, Netlight
Madrid Devoteam, Netlight
Stockholm Devoteam, Netlight
Zurich Devoteam, Netlight
Paris None inside the city; Devoteam, SFEIR and Polynom have head offices in nearby towns
Dublin None

Faculty, STX Next, Devoteam and Grid Dynamics give a London street address. Brdge, Distyl AI and Netlight give the city name only, and the company behind Brdge is registered in Uxbridge. Grid Dynamics lists an Amsterdam site whose address is in Wormerveer, and its Swiss address is in Zug, so it is counted for neither Amsterdam nor Zurich. Companies House gives Accenture plc, which owns Faculty, an address in Dublin, and Faculty names no Dublin office. FDE firms in Poland and Portugal covers the two countries where nine firms in this guide name an office or list open roles.

Choosing between them

Start with three questions. Who owns the firm? Where will its engineers sit, and in which time zone? And how will the work end? European FDE firms owned by larger companies covers the first. European FDE firms and US firms with European offices covers the second. Handover and exit from a forward deployed engagement covers the third.

The size of your company matters too. Eurostat found that 55.03 percent of large EU enterprises used AI in 2025, against 17 percent of small ones [34]. Some firms aim at the largest buyers: Distyl AI at Fortune 500 companies, per Crunchbase News, and Devoteam at industrial companies, by its own account. Others describe small teams: Twistag one or two engineers, and Netguru one embedded engineer. Language can matter as well. SFEIR's offer page and Polynom's job ad are in French, and accilium advertises a role for an engineer with German.

What none of them publish

No firm on the list publishes a rate card, a day rate or a price list for forward deployed engineers on the pages read on 21 October 2026, so ask each firm for a written quote. Netguru says its work is billed on time and materials and shares rates on a first call about the scope [2]. Polynom calls its offer an operated service "indexed on realised value". SFEIR's homepage shows a card headed Projet Preuve, French for proof project, with the figure 40k€ after two less-than signs, beside the line "Votre premier livrable IA en production en 8 semaines", meaning your first AI deliverable in production in 8 weeks. The page does not explain the figure, so this guide does not treat it as a price.

The closest public figures are official pay data. The UK's Office for National Statistics gives a median gross pay of £56,914 a year in 2025 for full-time programmers and software development professionals. Statistics Sweden gives a median of SEK 53,500 a month in 2025 for software and system developers. What forward deployed engineering costs in Europe explains both figures and why a firm's rate is higher than an engineer's pay.

Before you sign

Devoteam says the forward deployed role is "temporary by design", and Twistag says every engagement ends with documentation, evaluations and runbooks. Ask every firm on this list how its work will end, and put the answer in the contract. The questions to ask a European FDE firm page is a checklist you can print and take to each meeting. It includes questions on where your data will be kept and who can see it.

To talk through a project with the first firm on this list, contact Reveneau, or read about its forward deployed engineers.

What forward deployed engineering costs in Europe

No firm in this guide publishes a rate card, a day rate or a price list for forward deployed engineers. A few describe how they charge: Netguru bills by the hour, Polynom ties its operated service to realised value, and SFEIR shows one figure on its homepage without explaining it. The closest public numbers are official pay figures. The UK's Office for National Statistics gives a median of £56,914 a year for full-time software developers in 2025, and Statistics Sweden a median of SEK 53,500 a month. This page explains those figures, why a firm's rate is higher, and what a quote should list.

How the European FDE firms in this guide were chosen

Every firm on the list passed three tests. It says, in its own words or job ads, that it places engineers inside a client's team. It names an office in Europe on its own pages or in a company register, with two stated exceptions. And it sells that work to clients, for the clients' own systems. This page lists the sources, explains how each kind was treated, names the firms that were checked and left out with the reason for each, and lists the facts that could not be confirmed on 21 October 2026.

Questions to ask a European FDE firm before you sign

This checklist is for the first meeting with any forward deployed engineering firm that will work for a company in Europe. It has ten parts: the firm and its owners, the company that signs, the engineers, hours and travel, where your data is kept and who can see it, testing, platforms and licences, price and invoices, handover, and partner claims. Each question comes with what a clear answer contains and a fact from this guide that shows why it matters. Print it, send it to every firm before the meeting, and compare the written answers side by side.

None names an address inside the city of Paris. Three French firms have their head office in nearby towns: Devoteam in Levallois-Perret, SFEIR in Neuilly-sur-Seine, which SFEIR labels Paris, and Polynom in Rueil-Malmaison. The French company register confirms each of those head office addresses. For a meeting, ask each firm where its team works day to day.

Which forward deployed engineering firms list an office in Berlin?

Three firms in this guide list Berlin: accilium, which also advertises a Forward Deployed Engineer role there, Enjins, at the Merantix AI Campus, and Netlight. Does Reveneau have an office in Europe?

No. Reveneau's offices are at 435 Utah Street in San Francisco and on Floor 33, 909 Mainland Street, in Vancouver. It offers forward deployed engineers and says every change has to pass a large eval suite, a set of automated tests written from the specification. A European buyer should ask Reveneau where the engineers would work and in which time zone.

Where in Europe does Fluxon hire its staff?

Fluxon's careers page, read on 21 October 2026, listed roles located in Poland, such as Staff Software Engineer, and in Portugal, such as Senior Product Designer. accilium, Polynom and Faculty use the title only in job ads. STX Next uses it as a job title in a company blog post about its discovery work. No firm on the list published a rate card or a day rate on 21 October 2026. Netguru says it bills on time and materials and shares rates on a first call about the scope. Polynom ties its operated service to realised value. SFEIR's homepage shows two less-than signs before 40k€ on a card about a proof project, and does not explain the figure. Official pay data from the UK and Sweden is the closest public figure.

Why does a guide to European FDE firms include US companies?

Grid Dynamics, Distyl AI and Tribe AI each name an office in Europe on their own pages: Grid Dynamics lists sites in nine European countries, Distyl AI names London, and Tribe AI names Lisbon. Reveneau and Fluxon list no European office, and both offer engineers who work inside a client's team. Each entry says where the firm's staff are, so you can judge the distance.
