Mark Fulton ships AI Employees, eight scheduled business roles that run inside Claude Code

Running a small business today means paying for a marketing tool, a sales tool, an ad tool, a support inbox and a scheduler, and stitching the exports together on your own time. An open-source kit released this month bundles all of that into eight roles that share one AI agent.

Mark Fulton, founder of Reinventing.AI and the 340,000-member Vibe Coding is Life community, opened his ai-employees repository on 2 September 2026. It has 406 stars and 127 forks as of 24 September, on 22 days in public. The project is MIT-licensed and lives at github.com/markfulton/ai-employees.

What the kit does

Each AI Employee is a folder of scheduled routines that covers one business role and leaves a morning brief on your desk. The eight roles the README lists are GTM Engineer, SEO/AEO Employee, Web Dev Employee, Social Media Employee, Ad Manager Employee, Sales Employee, Customer Satisfaction Employee, and a Chief of Staff who reads every other employee's log and picks three moves for the week. Sixty routines in total, according to Fulton's own count.

The routines drive your browser and PC signed in as you, and the last click on every send, post, submit or spend is held back until you approve it. Fulton says on the repository page that no AI Employee ever creates an account, enters a password, completes a captcha or accepts terms.

Where it runs

Fulton says the kit is ready for eleven agent harnesses: Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes, OpenCode, Grok Bot, Codex, Antigravity, Pi, Cline, Qwen Code and DeepSeek. On Claude Code the repository is a plugin, added with /plugin marketplace add markfulton/ai-employees and then /plugin install ai-employees@ai-employees. On the other agents the two-step flow is a folder download plus one install prompt.

On cost, Fulton says the routines spend a share of a Claude Pro or Max plan's usage limits rather than API dollars. He puts the GTM Engineer at about six percent of the traffic his own Max seat sent to Claude, measured on his own machine, and links a per-routine breakdown in docs/COST.md.

The angle worth watching

An open-source Claude Code plugin at 406 stars is well under the "3,929 in nineteen days" bar past breakout tools have cleared, so this is early rather than settled. What makes it worth flagging today is the shape of the project: a Claude Code plan a founder already pays for, extended into a stack that would otherwise cost several hundred dollars a month in SaaS seats, with the guardrail that no channel ships anything without a human click. If the pattern holds, the next batch of small business software will look a lot more like a folder of routines and a lot less like a login page.
