Why it mattersA team paying for several coding assistants can now route one task across them from one Mac app and get a code review that reads the whole session alongside the diff.

A developer who already pays for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor has three windows open, three task lists, and three subscriptions that run out at different times. Parallax, released by Conifer, puts all of them in one Mac app and splits a single ask across the agent that suits each part. The company says Parallax also includes native code review that scored 2.24 valid merge-blocking comments per pull request on Martian's open Code Review Benchmark, ahead of 20 other tools.

The app runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, pi, Amp and Capy, and brings in sessions from Codex cloud and Claude Code on the web. A controller inside the app, called the Captain, splits one ask into a task for each suitable agent and checks each step against what the user asked while the work is happening. When an agent skips a test, stops before finishing the task or drifts to a change the user did not ask for, the Captain sends it a correction. The agents return their work as pull requests.

What Conifer says the review does differently

Conifer says its reviewer reads the whole session alongside the diff. In the example on the launch page, two agents miss that an "export per invoice" ask has been read as "group by customer", because the diff alone looks clean. The reviewer catches it by comparing the change to the original ask and runs a test for that exact case before commenting. Conifer says the Conifer router sends the review to models from labs other than the one that wrote the code, and the launch page names Gemini and Grok as the reviewers in that frame.

The benchmark number is Conifer's own run on Martian's leaderboard. The scoreboard, which Conifer reproduces, has 50 pull requests and 21 tools, with Parallax at 2.24 valid merge-blocking comments per pull request, GitHub Copilot, Qodo Extended and cubic tied at 1.38, Augment at 1.36 and CodeRabbit at 1.34. Claude Code sits lower on the same chart at 1.26. Martian publishes the benchmark; the figure above is what Conifer says Parallax scored on it, so a reader should treat it as the vendor's own run.

Price, platforms and what counts against your plans

Parallax is free to start on Mac, with a Linux build available as a tarball and a daemon that serves a browser interface on port 7878. Signing up with GitHub gives $50 of Conifer credit and five free reviews. The app connects to Claude and Codex accounts the user already has, and automatically moves the work to another one when a plan hits its limit, keeping the session alive across the switch. If the user has no Claude or ChatGPT plan at all, the agents can run on the Conifer credit instead.
