AI development companies outside the Bay Area, by metro area

Seventeen of the nineteen firms in this guide name at least one office in a US metro area outside the San Francisco Bay Area. This page sorts them by metro area and shows who states each office: the firm's own website, an annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or a news report. Every page used here was read on 21 October 2026. The Bay Area firms are covered in top AI development companies in Silicon Valley.

How this page counts a city

A city's legal limits cover a smaller area than the places its workers come from. The US Census Bureau groups each large city with the nearby counties where many of its workers live, and calls the result a metropolitan statistical area, or metro area. Teaneck, New Jersey, for example, sits in the New York metro area. This page uses the Census Bureau's 2023 list of metro areas.

A firm counts for a metro area when its own page, its SEC filing or an independent source names an office there. A street address is not required, and the table says when a source gives the city name only. Three cases are left out of the counts. A satellite office that a firm lists with no address is shown in the notes. A town that the Census Bureau treats as its own metro area is counted under that town. And Reveneau and Fluxon are left out, because both give San Francisco addresses.

Reveneau and Fluxon

Reveneau lists offices at 435 Utah Street in San Francisco and on Floor 33, 909 Mainland Street, in Vancouver, Canada. By Reveneau's own account, AI writes 100 percent of its code, and every change must pass a large eval suite, a set of automated tests written from the project's specification, before it is released. Reveneau says Jev, the model that grades that suite, makes it run ten times faster than its previous grader. It says it uses AI in place of hiring more engineers and puts that saving into its clients' prices, and that it takes responsibility for the whole project through production and after release. Its AI development service page describes the work, and the contact page is the way to reach either office.

Fluxon's address in Stripe's partner directory, supplied by Fluxon, is 236 West Portal Ave, 848, San Francisco [28]. None of the Fluxon pages read for this guide gives a street address in another US city. So neither firm appears in the counts on this page.

New York

Six firms count for the New York metro area. MojoTech lists 331 Park Ave South, 12th Floor [5]. Fractal lists its global headquarters at Suite 76J, One World Trade Center [9]. West Monroe lists 825 8th Ave, 17th Floor [15], and Slalom lists 285 Fulton Street [27]. Accenture's annual report names New York among its major offices, with no street address [17]. Cognizant's annual report places its worldwide headquarters in Teaneck, New Jersey, which is inside the New York metro area [16].

8th Light lists New York as a satellite with no address [2], so it is left out of the count.

Boston

Five firms count for the Boston metro area. Quantiphi lists its office under the heading Boston, at 33 Boston Post Road West in Marlborough, a town in Middlesex County that the Census Bureau places in the Boston metro area [10]. West Monroe lists 2 Liberty Square [15], and Slalom lists 399 Boylston Street [20]. Aimpoint Digital names Boston on its contact page with no street address [8]. Accenture's annual report names Boston among its major offices [17].

MojoTech's office at 56 Exchange Terrace in Providence, Rhode Island, is in the Providence metro area, so it is counted under Providence [5].

Chicago

Five firms count for Chicago, and two of them have their head office there. 8th Light lists its headquarters at 25 E Washington St, #1500 [2]. West Monroe lists 311 W Monroe St, 14th Floor [15]. Atomic Object lists 609 W Randolph St, Suite 400 [1]. Slalom lists 200 East Randolph [21]. Accenture's annual report names Chicago among its major offices [17].

Washington, DC

Four firms count for the Washington metro area, which takes in northern Virginia. Booz Allen Hamilton's annual report gives its headquarters at 8283 Greensboro Drive, McLean, and says it plans to move it to Reston, Virginia, in the fall of 2027 [13]. Its office page also lists 901 15th Street NW in Washington and 1550 Crystal Drive in Arlington [12]. Viget lists 105 West Broad Street in Falls Church [3]. West Monroe lists 1650 Tysons Blvd in McLean under the heading Washington, D.C. [15]. Slalom's Washington page gives 8484 Westpark Drive, in Tysons [25].

Blend360 lists its office at 10221 Wincopin Circle in Columbia, Maryland [7]. Columbia is in Howard County, which the Census Bureau places in the Baltimore metro area. The Bureau joins the Baltimore and Washington metro areas in one larger "combined area", so this page shows Blend360 in the notes and leaves it out of the Washington count.

Seattle

Three firms count for the Seattle metro area. Slalom says Seattle is where it began, and its Seattle page says that office "has grown to over 1,000 people" [18]. West Monroe lists 1201 2nd Avenue, Suite 3100 [15]. Fractal lists Suite 206, 11911 NE 1st St, in Bellevue, a city inside the Seattle metro area [9].

Booz Allen's office page lists an office under the heading Seattle whose address is in Bremerton, Washington [12]. Bremerton is in Kitsap County, its own metro area, so it is counted under Bremerton.

Atlanta

Three firms count for Atlanta. Aimpoint Digital lists its main office at 7000 Central Pkwy, Suite #1700 [8]. Booz Allen lists 575 Morosgo Drive NE, Suite 250 [12]. Slalom lists 725 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE [19].

Los Angeles

Three firms count for Los Angeles. West Monroe lists 700 South Flower Street, Suite 3000 [15], and Slalom lists 12045 Waterfront Drive [24]. Artium gives no address on its own pages. Consulting.us called it "a Los Angeles-based agentic AI software consulting firm" when it reported in August 2026 that AlixPartners had bought it [11], and that report is the only source for Artium's city. 8th Light lists Los Angeles as a satellite with no address [2].

Philadelphia

Three firms count for the Philadelphia metro area. Think Company lists 1315 Walnut St, Second Floor, in Philadelphia and 201 Fayette Street in Conshohocken, a town in Montgomery County inside the same metro area [4]. EPAM Systems' annual report gives its principal executive offices at 41 University Drive, Suite 202, Newtown, in Bucks County, also inside the Philadelphia metro area [14]. Slalom lists 100 North 18th Street [23].

Austin

Two firms count for Austin. Quansight gives 8656 W. Hwy 71, Bldg F200, in its site footer, and its about page says it has staff in many continents and countries [6]. Slalom lists 816 Congress Avenue [26]. 8th Light lists Austin as a satellite with no address [2].

Denver

Two firms count for the Denver metro area. Slalom lists 1899 Wynkoop Street [22]. Booz Allen lists 3855 Lewiston Street, Suite 200, in Aurora, a city inside the Denver metro area [12].

Viget lists 1002 Walnut St. in Boulder [3], and MojoTech lists 1495 Canyon Blvd. in Boulder [5]. The Census Bureau counts Boulder as its own metro area, inside a larger area combined with Denver. Both offices are counted under Boulder.

Grand Rapids and Detroit

Atomic Object lists its founding office at 1034 Wealthy St SE in Grand Rapids [1]. Grand Rapids, in Kent County, is a metro area of its own. Atomic's second Michigan office, at 123 N. Ashley Street in Ann Arbor, is in the Ann Arbor metro area, which sits inside the larger area combined with Detroit. No firm in this guide names an office in the Detroit metro area itself.

Miami

None of the pages read for this guide on 21 October 2026 named an office in the Miami metro area. Slalom's company page counts "54 Local offices" [19], and this guide did not read a full list of them, so ask Slalom directly if Miami matters to you. One candidate, Koombea, gives Naples, Florida, in its own website data. Naples is in a different metro area, and Koombea was left out of the guide.

Some firms name offices in cities outside the thirteen metro areas above. Atomic Object lists Raleigh, North Carolina [1]. Viget lists Durham, North Carolina, and names Chattanooga, Tennessee, in its footer [3]. Quantiphi lists Princeton, New Jersey, and San Jose, California [10]. Fractal lists Palo Alto, California [9]. West Monroe lists Dallas, Minneapolis and San Francisco [15].

An office and the team are separate questions

An office tells you where you can meet a firm. Where the engineers on your project will sit is a separate question, and some firms publish facts that help answer it.

Atomic Object's AI page says it hires only in its four US regions [1]. Think Company's contact page says, "Most of our work happens remotely, but our roots are in Philadelphia" [4]. Cognizant's annual report puts 41,600 of its 351,600 staff in North America, a total it marks as approximate [16]. Slalom lists "54 Local offices" on its company page [19].

Before you sign, ask three things. Which office will run the project? Where will each engineer on the team work, and in which time zone? Will anyone attend meetings in person, and how often?
